LUMBERLAND, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that State Route 97 will be closed to all traffic in the area of Homeyer Road in the Town of Lumberland, Sullivan County from approximately 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. The closure is necessary to facilitate tree removal and is weather dependent.
Electronic Variable Messaging Signs will direct through traffic to utilize the following detours:
Motorists should anticipate travel delays and build extra travel time into their schedule. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
