Placemats and brochures from the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway

REGION — The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway (UDSB) has received a new order of 10,000 promotional placemats, which are available without charge for restaurants and community organizations that host public meals.

Three different byway brochures are also available for pickup in Narrowsburg, NY.

The 11-inch-by-17-inch advertising-free placemats feature a map of the New York State Route 97 corridor from the Village of Hancock to the City of Port Jervis. The byway runs nearly 70 miles through Delaware, Sullivan and Orange counties, often parallel to the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River.

The placemats also have a description of the state-designated byway, black-and-white photos of a few of its attractions, logos for the organization and the future Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Visitor Center at the Callicoon Depot and UDSB contact information.

Three different tri-fold color brochure publications are available. They include:

“Meet Us on the Byway”, a travelogue with inset maps and historic descriptions of each member community along NYS Route 97;

“Monarch Butterfly: Fostering the Flyway by the Byway,” which addresses the species’ migration patterns, life stages, habitat needs, threats and conservation resources, and;

“Spread the Word, Not the Weed,” which provides tips on battling the invasion of knotweed (Fallopia japonica) on native plants, riverbanks and views.

Any group or business that would like to request placemats or brochures can call 845/252-3022 or email laurie@upperdelawarecouncil.org. Pickup at 211 Bridge St. in Narrowsburg can be arranged.
