PIKE COUNTY, PA — The Commonwealth Financing Authority on May 21 approved $2 million in state grants for various projects throughout Monroe and Pike counties.

The Pike County Economic Development Authority was awarded a total of $250,000 for the following projects:

  • $50,000 to replace and renovate a playground at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Delaware Township.
  • $75,000 to replace three existing outdated/dilapidated cabins at the Pocono Environmental Education Center in Dingman Township.
  • $50,000 to replace a water storage tank at Pocono Ranch Lands in Lehman Township.
  • $75,000 to replace drainage pipes at Glen at Tamiment in Lehman Township.

“These grants are important on several levels,” said PA Rep. Tarah Probst (D, PA-189), who represents eastern Monroe and southern Pike. “They ensure that municipalities can complete important infrastructure upgrades without raising local taxes, while at the same time improving recreational opportunities for residents.”
