Summer is in full swing in upstate New York, and the weather has been perfect for lake days and more! It is so nice to drive by Lake Huntington and see all the boats, kayaks, paddleboards and Jet Skis. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer day.

Here are a few events coming up locally, so mark your calendars.

The Cochecton Youth Commision will visit LEGOLAND in Goshen on Sunday, August 14 at 9 a.m. As always, the event is free for Cochecton youth who have signed up.

Adults and out-of-town youth who have signed up must buy tickets online for that day to attend.

Tickets cost $89.99 for ages three and up. Tickets go fast, so once your child is signed up, buy the adult tickets online for that day. A parking fee of $25 is charged to adults.

For questions, contact Krissy Snedeker at 845/807-8003.

LEGOLAND NY is located at 1 LEGOLAND Way.

The program is funded in full or in part by the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

The Callicoon Country Fair will take place on Saturday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a town-wide event with art, music, food and fun. The artisan market features local vendors offering locally made artisan goods, crafts and jewelry, as well as antiques, art, food and more. Wander along the historic streets, view the architecture and admire the beautiful Delaware River. Vendors, sponsors and volunteers are wanted. Email events.callicoon@gmail.com for more information.

Summer acting classes for teens and adults, taught by River Rep artistic director Christopher Peditto, start Wednesday, July 20 at the Delaware Valley Opera Center in Lake Huntington. Come have fun and play in this space, free of stress and judgment. Learn more and sign up now at riverrep.org.

“Rigoletto” is arguably one of Verdi’s most popular operas at the Delaware Valley Opera. Gorgeous singing, intrigue, assassins, politically—and morally—incorrect treatment of women, fate, true love, missed redemption and a curse all play their parts in this dramatic story. There is something in it for everyone, and it’s an evening not to be missed.

Performances will be held on Saturday, July 16 and Saturday, July 23 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, July 17 and Sunday, July 24 at 2 p.m.
