ROSCOE, NY — Buck Brook Alpacas will hold a public tour of its farm on Friday, December 30.
Come by, and you can walk an alpaca, shop for alpaca-related gifts, mine for gems and fossils, or just take in the view of the 40-acre spread. Plus you’ll learn about the animals from your guide. How is their fleece turned into processed items?
The tour and activities are for all ages, and is described as a great learning experience for children.
The tour runs approximately 40 minutes. Dress for the weather, as well as for possible mud and ice.
Refreshments are available for purchase, and you’ll have access to a restroom and sanitizing stations.
Tickets cost $12; children aged three and under are free. Dogs are not allowed on the public tours.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Starting New Year’s Day, the Sullivan County Audubon Society will hold its 123rd annual bird feeder count and birdseed giveaway.
The count takes place until Saturday, January 7. During that time, document all the birds you see, and report them for a chance to win a 40-pound bag of black-oil sunflower seed.
