New rules for Damascus Township political signs

Posted

DAMASCUS, PA — The Damascus Township Board of Supervisors passed a motion to amend the township’s temporary political signs ordinance in a meeting held Monday, September 16.

The amended ordinance says that temporary political signs can be placed in yards beginning 90 days before the general election or before the primary election, but not before that date.

The signs must be taken down no later than 10 days after the election, reads the ordinance.

While the motion was carried, a public hearing will be necessary. It will be discussed at the next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors.

The supervisors plan to discuss it at their regular meeting in October.
