MONTICELLO, NY — Members of the Monticello Police arrested Julio Renta, age 33. of Monticello on Sept. 27.

Renta was charged with the felony of Assault in the 2nd degree. Renta was arrested following an investigation of an assault upon a 35 year-old Monticello woman.

The victim who is an acquaintance of Renta, was intentionally punched in the face by Renta, during a Domestic Dispute which had occurred on Sept. 18 in a residence located in the Village of Monticello. The victim sustained a broken Jaw and the loss of 4 teeth as a result of the assault

 The victim was transported to Garnet Orange and required surgery for her injuries. Renta was arraigned in the Village of Monticello Justice Court before Village Justice Douglas Solomon and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending further court action.
