HONESDALE, PA — The Alzheimer’s Association and Wayne Memorial Hospital will present an educational program on Thursday, August 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The program covers what to watch for in yourself and others when it comes to Alzheimer’s disease.
The disease causes changes in memory, thinking and behavior that are not part of the natural aging process.
The program will be held in the David Katz Conference Center on the second floor of the hospital, which is located at 601 Park St.
Topics to be covered include the difference between normal aging and Alzheimer’s, common warning signs, how to approach someone about memory concerns, the importance of early detection and diagnosis, next steps and expectations after diagnosis and available resources from the Alzheimer’s Association.
The program is free. Registration is not required but it is appreciated. To register, call 800/272-3900 or visit Meeting Registration at alz.org.
