That was one hell of a storm we had on Friday; my power went out at 11 a.m. on Friday. I counted to 13, and then my generator kicked in. I got a Generac generator from American Electric—the best thing I ever bought. Michael Jr. and Eric at American Electric installed it, and Cochecton Oil took care of my propane tank—that should last four days. God bless them. I would suggest everyone get one; they do have financing available.
On Saturday, March 10, 2018 please come out and support a great event: Roycroft’s Roar tricky tray benefit for Dottie Champion Roycroft at the Delaware Youth Center, Callicoon, NY. Doors open at 1 p.m.; calling is at 2:30 p.m. There will be special raffles, a 50/50 and refreshments available for purchase. Admission costs $5 or three for $10. Tickets for specials tables cost $2 each or six for $10, for the grand special table $3 each or four for $10. Tickets for 50/50s cost $1 each or an arm’s length for $10. The special admission package costs $10 (a $15 value) and includes admission, one 50/50, three special raffles and one grand special raffle. If you would like to make a donation to the tricky tray or to the family, please give Penny Ackerman a call at 845/701-2065.
Save these dates: On Saturday, March 17 at 2 p.m. there will be a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at Holy Cross Church. Reservations should be made by March 10; mail check to James Henke at PO Box 215 Callicoon, NY 12723 with number of tickets. The cost for adults is $15, for children seven to 15, $10; kids under six are admitted free.
On Saturday, March 24, Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church is having a pancake and sausage supper in the church town hall from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost for adults is $9, for children six through 12, $5, and free for children five and under.
On Saturday, April 21, the Lake Huntington Fire Co. will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7:30. The cost for adults is $10, for kids five to 10, $6 and free for kids four and under. See a fireman for tickets or call 845/932-8514 or 845/932-8444
