The Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) has two upcoming events. Signups for both of these will be held on July 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the town hall.
On July 22, the CYC will screen “Madagascar” at the Forestburgh Playhouse. The group rate is $11 per child for a group of at least 20. If fewer than 20 people sign up, the cost for out-of-town children will be $13 and for adults will be $20. Contact Michelle Steich at 570/419-8801 with any questions.
The second event is an air show on Sunday, August 13 at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. The cost is $16 per adult/out of town children, ages 6-12 $12, and children five years old and younger are admitted free. The event coordinator is Kristin Lockwood at 570/470-1741.

On Saturday, July 1, the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid will hold a yard and bake sale on County Road 114 by the new town hall, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Sunday July 9, the Cochecton Democrat Club is hosting a penny social at The Lake Huntington Pizzeria at 23 Crestwood Rd. Doors open at 1 p.m., calling at 2 p.m.. For more information call Peggy at 845/932-8104.
On Tuesday, July 11, The Cochecton Preservation Society will host a potluck dinner at the Erie Depot, 8537 State Rte. 97. Bring a dish and have fun. RSVP to 845/932-8104. The train station is being painted along with Bob White’s Outhouse; the Butterfly Rest Stop is planted; Bicentennial Books of Cochecton Papers and Cochecton Papers II are available for sale at $20 each. On Saturday, July 15, the Lake Huntington Fire Company is hosting a chicken barbeque; more information to follow.
