HAWLEY, PA — After weeks of planting seeds and caring for their plants, the kids participating in the gardening program at Hawley Public Library will start to see the fruit of their hard labor.
Recently, some of the plants were big enough to start harvesting, and the kids arrived armed with scissors and plastic bags. They took home some lettuce and kelp—the start of many harvests they will enjoy this summer.
The program is a joint partnership with The Country Gardeners Club and meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. from June 26 till August 28.
The library is located at 103 Main Ave.
If you have children interested in participating in this program, check with the library at 570/226-4620 to see if there are any open spots.
