Janus/January

Posted

                   Look forward,  look back.

Anticipate what’s coming;  contemplate what’s past

Ski down the slopes of December

and smack onto the fresh, untracked

   snows of January.

Look back...  say your farewells,

   then, move on.

Make your own marks on the new year.

Forget “resolutions.”

Time and circumstance befuddle good  intentions.

Rather, greet each day with resolve,

   enthusiasm, hope, and confidence.

Go out and LIVE.

Learn from errors.

Accept help from others...give help in return.

Make new friends......cherish “old” ones.

Be flexible.

After the snows come warmth and renewal.

Let it happen.

   Flow with the seasons.

   Savor each new one.

Remember this:

Collectively, days go by at warp speed,

         irreversible

         irretrievable,

        suddenly  a part of “history.”

Eventually, the snows will return.

Anticipate the hills and valleys of each new day.

Negotiate it skillfully,   moguls and all.

*******************

When the hills seem steep and long,  and you feel yourself sliding.....

May you always find a ski lift waiting to take you back to the top.

    Happy New Year.
