LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — In his address to Sullivan West’s Winter Sports award ceremony, boys’ varsity hoops coach John Meyer “spoke from the heart” when talking about the team and their accomplishments during the season.

“This year was a success,” he said, noting that their main goal was to make Sectionals, which they did, at the end posting a 12-9 overall record. They beat Millbrook but fell to Chester.

“The boys played hard. Even in those games against very good teams, we never gave up,” said Coach Meyer, adding, “We showed great sportsmanship throughout the year. Their grit and determination, and never giving less than 100 percent effort.”

The Bulldogs were helmed by Coach Meyer and assisted by Coach John Hauschild, and will lose 10 seniors to graduation.

Looking ahead to the 2022-23 season, Coach Meyer said, “The future looks bright and hopefully the younger guys will put in the work needed to improve their skills.”
