The Marine Corps League was founded on November 10, 1922 by WW I veteran Major General John A. Lejeune. The charter was approved by the 75th Congress and signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937. The Marine Corps League is the only congressionally chartered U.S. Marine Corps-related veteran organization in the United States.
