MILFORD, PA — Despite the impending inclement weather that canceled the Milford Memorial Parade, the Marine Corps League-Detachment 909 held a Memorial Day ceremony on May 27. The detachment gathered at the American Legion Post 139 to pay homage to fallen service members.
Pike County Veterans Affairs Director Jesiah Schrader addressed the group assembled, reminding them of the service and the responsibility to those who died while serving the country.
The Marine Corps League was founded on November 10, 1922 by WW I veteran Major General John A. Lejeune. The charter was approved by the 75th Congress and signed by President Franklin D.
