HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — Actor, writer and director Jane Wells will present “How to Live with Dread” at the North American Cultural Laboratory (NACL) on Friday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m.
The Toronto-based Wells describes “How to Live with Dread” as “a show about family, about death and about the work of creation—but in a fun way.”
She recently lost her brother Ker, who was her collaborator, and who directed and performed in numerous NACL original productions. Wells now grapples with how to find the way forward in life and in her work without him.
She was part of the original cast in the NACL production “The Mystery of Lakewood House,” and has also performed with Number Eleven Theatre in “Icaria,” in “The Prague Visitor” at NACL and in “The Curious History of Peter Schlemihl” at Bethel Woods. Her solo show, titled “Brightness Falls”—which she created with Ker—was also workshopped and presented at NACL.
Soup and conversation will be available after the presentation.
NACL is located at 110 Highland Lake Rd.
Tickets cost $25.
