Grand Nonet from SCCO

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra (SCCO) will perform a Grand Nonet at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 at the Tusten Theatre.

A nonet is a composition for nine instruments, which is the perfect blend of timbres and colors, according to SCCO director Andrew Trombley. The format takes the essence of the symphony and presents it with the intimacy of chamber music.

The program will include Lee Hoiby’s Variations for Nonet on a theme by Schubert Op. 35B and Louise Farrenc’s Nonet, Op. 38. The performers are Akiko Hosoi (violin), Chiu-Chen Liu (Viola), Kirsten Jermé (cello), Andrew Trombley (bass), Marisela Sager (flute), Matt Sullivan (Oboe), Paul Cho (Clarinet), Joshua Butcher (Bassoon) and Sara Cyrus (horn).

The theatre is located at 310 Bridge St.

Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door for non-members of the DVAA. For members, the cost is $20/$25.

Kids aged 12 and under get in free.

The Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra professionally performs across Sullivan County. It is a part of Nesin Cultural Arts and promotes the arts’ role in economic development, creativity, diversity and global cultural awareness.
