UPPER DELAWARE REGION — This year in celebration of Earth Day, the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River will sponsor the Water Snapshot Program. This annual event draws attention to water quality monitoring and brings awareness to environmental stewardship.
Originally started in 1996 by the Delaware River Basin Commission, Water Snapshot is a hands-on program that provides an opportunity for school-aged children and local citizens to test the water quality in the Delaware River or its tributaries. The program will take place throughout the month of April with organized field trip visits to local bodies of water from April 15 to May 3.
