Bubble brings power pop, classics to Rafter’s Tavern

CALLICOON, NY — Bubble is heading to Rafter’s Tavern for a performance at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29.

The group, which recently celebrated 30 years of playing together, will divide the show between original songs and Beatles favorites.

Bubble has released three full-length albums and performed hundreds of shows. But in all that time, they had never played the Upper Delaware Valley. That changed last summer when they played Rafter’s Tavern as a stripped-down foursome. They fell in love with the magic of summer in the region and vowed to return with the rest of the band.

“We actually drove into a ditch on our way to the show,” said guitarist and songwriter Dave Foster. “So we were stressed at first. But once we got into it, we just fell in love with being onstage, outdoors on a beautiful summer night sharing rock and roll with people who love it as much as we do.”

The band includes Foster, drummer Tom Devito, bassist Russ Alderson, vocalist and accordionist Rembert Block, keyboardist Charly Roth and lead guitarist Mike Fornatale.

“The crowd was so amazing last summer, getting into our originals as well as the Beatles’ classics,” Foster said. “We played with a smaller lineup, but once we got a taste of what it’s like to play here, we knew we had to come back with the rest of our bandmates.”

There is no cover charge, but donations are encouraged.

Rafter’s Tavern is located at 28 Upper Main St.
