Local radio stations have been the source for delays and closings for many years. Known as RadioBOLD Info Central, Bold Gold Media’s Local Radio Stations; Thunder 102, 98.3 WSUL, 95.9 VOS-FM, and Catskills News Talk 92.5 & 94.9, keep the community informed of important delays and cancellations for schools and other community events. RadioBOLD Info Central was always available during the colder months of November through March. However, new state regulations regarding high temperatures in school buildings without air conditioning, and changing weather patterns, have created the need to expand the program to be available September through June.
The program is simple, schools and other community organizations that have delays, cancellations or other important announcements simply e-mail their announcement to
radioboldinfocentral@gmail.com. Their information gets uploaded to our RadioBOLD Info Central page at
boldgoldnewyork.com, where it is available 24/7, and then announced on the Radio.
“Getting critical information out to the public about changes to school schedules or community events, is one of the main priorities of local radio. Delays, closings and other urgent information might be available from other digital sources like school texts and social media, but nothing replaces mass reach of radio, and that is a responsibility that we take very seriously.” Dawn Ciorciari, General Manager Bold Gold Media, NY Region.
RadioBOLD Info Central is made possible by generous sponsors like Black Bear Fuel, Heating & Air Conditioning, Fallsburg Lumber, Frost Valley YMCA, Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills, Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark, Lawrence Miller Insurance Agency, Merrell Benco Insurance Agency, and Rolling V.
