PORT JERVIS, NY — There will be an educational program on parrots and parrots as pets on Saturday, November 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Room of the Port Jervis Public Library.

They act immature, they’ll beg for your food, they’ll talk in their sleep, they’ll give you strange looks, they’re opinionated and will scream at you the second you move the wrong way, and no—we’re not talking about kids. Welcome to the wonderful world of parrots. Despite their popularity and complexity, there are relatively few resources available for those with the desire to learn about parrot care, behavioral tendencies, health and habits. Bird expert Brian Meade will help you learn more about parrots and even introduce you to one. The course is free.
