The Town of Bethel recently held an open house for its residents to comment on the development of the town’s new comprehensive plan, which is in the initial stages of being rewritten. I must commend the Comp Plan Committee and the Town Board for organizing such a well-developed and orchestrated community input session. 

The structure of the event was designed extremely well and very easy to navigate. There also were plenty of informed “docents” at the event to assist with questions and comments that one might have. 

I was also pleased to see that it was very well attended and I’m certain that the committee received lots of good input to help guide them in the new comprehensive plan’s development.

I understand that they are going to have additional similar sessions for the community to input their thoughts and ideas for the committee and what they think should be addressed. I highly encourage all residents to voice their thoughts in the coming months. It is very important that everyone participates in the process, which will shape the town’s development in the years to come.
