HONESDALE, PA — Growing Older Together (GOT) is starting a monthly discussion, facilitated by GOT member and volunteer Pat Sanders, to focus on topics and insights sparked by selected readings and books.
GOT is a non-profit, volunteer organization that sets out to provide seniors in Wayne and Sullivan counties with social connections, community, assistance and practical means to help them live independently in their homes.
“If you are interested in exploring what it’s really like to grow old, how your late years differ from youth and midlife, and the pleasures inherent in the acceptance of aging—even amidst a culture that does everything possible to marginalize the old and make us invisible—there are a wealth of books and articles on the topic,” said a press release.
The first meeting will be held on Friday, September 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Honesdale branch of the Wayne County Public Library, an accessible facility.
If you plan to attend, or you’re unable to but would like to receive updates on the group, email your name and phone number to Pat Sanders at firstname.lastname@example.org.
