Arguing with someone who is loud and confident that Elvis is still alive can be a challenge and perhaps pointless. So, when “Angry Man” approached our table in front of the Democratic office in Honesdale, PA and “asked” in a loud voice, “What has Joe Biden ever done?” and “The roads are a mess!” no one immediately answered, because these were not really questions. Most even felt a threatening tone. 

Besides, he never waited for the many replies that would have been offered, but in the same breath segued into “Biden is a pedophile” and “How can you support him?” 

Attention all, here is a recent news bulletin: despite this man’s despicable slander against Joe, Biden is no longer on the Democratic ticket. 

Given that I was familiar with a similar kind of rant from a distant relative, I guessed that likely our aggressive visitor would next move to anti-vax and delusional COVID conspiracy theories—i.e., bleach, Ivermectin and ultraviolet light as supposed cures. In 2020, these gems were largely peddled by the current convicted felon and then-fearless president, Donald “Bone Spur” Trump. Curiously, this fraudster is the same convicted sexual abuser and tax cheat who is the current Republican cult nominee for President.  

But, oh how I erred! I was conceptually “swinging and missing” because “Angry Man” had moved quickly down the rabbit hole and further back in time to that all-time favorite right-wing conspiracist target, Hillary Clinton. 

Then in a flash, before any real discussion could be had, he was down Main Street and gone. Someone wondered if he was registered to vote. Contrary to policy, should he return we agreed not to ask.
