A daffodil for every child killed in the Holocaust

MONTICELLO, NY — Landfield Avenue Synagogue has completed drainage work ahead of the planting of its Daffodil Project, in which a bulb will be planted for every child who lost their life in the Holocaust.

“With all that is happening in Israel, now more than ever our solidarity in participating in this event has a more special meaning,” said Lori Orestano-James, board of directors-secretary and social/community relations chair.

The students at the St. John Street Education Building recently planted 500 daffodils. In the spring, bulbs will be planted in all the entry flower boxes in the village and a Peace Pole will be added at the school.
