This is a concert by the Ansonia Quartet, formed at The Juilliard School in September 2016.

In a page right out of modern history, the Quartet’s international career was launched by a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2017, where they met their goal of $10,000 in only nine days. Recitals and workshops in Japan followed.

The Ansonia Quartet has performed in Toronto, the Harvard Club of New York, Nicholas Roerich Museum and SOPAC (South Orange Performing Arts Center) among others.

While their passion to push string quartet boundaries has led them to pursue fresh literature, they also infuse Argentine tango into their repertoire, having held a tango presentation for the Juilliard community in collaboration with Grammy-award winning bandoneon player, Hector del Curto.

The program for the Saturday, August 10 concert “An Evening of Chamber Music featuring the Ansonia Quartet” will include the music of Beethoven, Ravel and Mendelssohn, and will be performed at the Shandelee Music Festival’s fully accessible, climate controlled Sunset Concert Pavilion, located at 442 J. Young Road, Livingston Manor.

All performances in the Sunset Concert Series begin at 8 p.m. and will be followed by a specialty dessert reception.

Concert tickets are $35 for adults, $30.00 for Shandelee Music Festival members, and $10.00 for students 17 and under. Advanced reservations are required by calling 845-439-3277. Or purchase your tickets online and find out more about membership and sponsorships at www.shandelee.org.
