Hello how is everyone doing? I hope you enjoyed the great weather over the weekend. The umbrella is going to get a good work out this week; stay dry. My grammar school friends from Queens, Patty and Billy, live in Narrowsburg and their daughter and three grand-kids were up for the weekend. I grew up with lots of kids around, but never had kids myself.

Little kids are so funny; I love the things they say—they do crack me up. On Sunday, my brother Teddy and I got to spend time with our cousins’ two-month-old twin granddaughters, Shelby and Hazel. Teddy is so much better with kids than me; they cry, poop, spit up—I'm saying, "Take her, just take her."

Michael F. Popolillo, president of the Lake Huntington, NY Lake Association, Inc., would just like to remind lake owners that the 2018 dues, of $100, are now due. The dues are desperately needed to keep moving forward to fight the algae problem on beautiful Lake Huntington. Anyone can make donations; any amount and all donations greatly appreciated. Please mail check to PO Box 95, Lake Huntington, NY 12752. Thank you in advance for your support.

Did you know that there is a Facebook page called "Lake Huntington NY?" Check it out.

The Cochecton Preservation Society will meet on Tuesday August 7, at 7 p.m. at the train station, 8537 Rt. 97. There will be a roundtable on "remember when." There will be free refreshments. Come on out and have a good time.

Happy 10th anniversary to Kevin and Brenda Esselman, and many more years of health and happiness.
