Fine forgiveness benefits Safe Haven

MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Public Library will be accepting donations of selected items from Tuesday, November 13 to Friday, December 7, in exchange for reducing fines on library card accounts. For every one item a person donates, $1 will be removed from their account, up to $10. If you don’t have any fines, the library will waive the next person’s fines.

All items will be donated to Safe Haven of Pike County. Acceptable donations include any non-perishable food items that are ready to eat and/or easily made (microwave, add water, etc.), such as Microwaveable Soups on the Go, Velveeta Cheesy Bowls, Kraft Easy Mac n’ Cheese Bowls, or Ramen Noodle Soup Cups. This yearly program is meant to replenish storage for a local charity after the Thanksgiving holiday. The library cannot accept homemade, perishable, open or unlabeled items, damaged items, beverages, or expired items. Donations can only be used to reduce fines, not other library charges.

For more information visit www.pcpl.org or www.facebook.com/PikeCounty PublicLibrary, or call the Milford branch at 570/296-8211 or Dingman Township branch at 570/686-7045.
