WAYNE AND PIKE COUNTIES, PA — The Wayne/Pike Farm Bureau (WPFB) has announced the winners of the PA Farm Bureau’s 2018 Safety Poster Contest at the county level. The theme for this year was “Think Safe. Be Safe.” John Rickard (absent from the photo) placed first in the coloring page competition for ages four to six. Leeland Schaal (second from left) won the top spot for his original poster for age group seven to nine and his brother, Austyne Schaal, (right) won first place in the 10 to 12 age category for his original drawing. Each boy received a trophy and a monetary gift from Wayne/Pike Farm Bureau. All three local winners moved on to the state competition, where Austyne’s poster won second place and was displayed at Ag Progress Days. It can also be viewed at the PFB State Annual Meeting in Hershey from November 12 – 14. With the Schaals at left is Bonnie LaTourette, WPFB women’s leadership chair.
