NEWBURGH, NY — The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS) announced more Make a Difference Fund grant recipients for 2018, funding organizations that provide services and programs to children of low income, disadvantaged, or distressed families. The most recent round of grants were awarded to programs that focus on science and technology.
The Newburgh Armory Unity Center, an organization that provides academic enrichment, civic engagement and athletic and wellness opportunities to children and families in Newburgh, received $2,000 to assist with its Literacy, Science, Technology and Strategic Skills Enhancement project. This project provides high-quality STEM and early-childhood education literacy programs to elementary-school aged children.
The Hudson Valley Seed Inc., which educates children on healthy eating, food literacy, outdoor learning and academic success, received $1,500 to aid with education on gardening at four Newburgh elementary schools.
