WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST TUESDAY...
WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of a tenth to a quarter of an inch.
WHERE...Southern Wayne, Pike, Wyoming, Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 4 PM EST Tuesday. A burst of moderate to locally heavy snow is expected late this evening and into the first half of the overnight. Snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour are expected at times. Then, the snow will change to a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain and even some rain late tonight into Tuesday morning. Expect light showers of sleet, freezing rain, rain or drizzle late Tuesday morning and into the afternoon.
IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures hover in the mid 20s to lower 30s throughout the event. Except temperatures should reach the mid-30s in the Wyoming Valley on Tuesday, allowing for some melting.
