JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — A pre-festival benefit soirée kicks off Weekend of Chamber Music’s 20th anniversary in the Catskills from 4 to 8 p.m. on May 25 at the Art Mill. Guests will enjoy an al fresco buffet supper with wine and dessert on the veranda, overlooking the gardens and stream at the Art Mill.
A concert with pre-performance introductions to the music, and interaction and discussion with the audience, with music by world-class musicians, are highlights of the evening. Performing Bach, Beethoven and Ravel, along with classical improvisations and a few surprises, are WCM’s new co-artistic directors, composer/violinist Andrew Waggoner and cellist Caroline Stinson, plus violinist Nurit Pacht, violist Tawnya Popoff and flutist Judith Pearce.
This annual benefit is a key fundraiser and means of support for Weekend of Chamber Music as a non-profit organization. The suggested minimum donation is $75 per person, and advance reservations are requested. To make a reservation, email info@WCMconcerts.org, or call 845/887-5803.
