sound
will take you back to the days when the

Fresh music: Al Freedman

CALLICOON, NY — Rafter’s Tavern is hosting Al Freedman’s “Gator and the Everglades” show on Saturday, March 30 to celebrate the release of his new album and solo-debut “Eco-Evolution.” The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Described as classic alternative folk-rock-reggae, the music features politically-conscious lyrics with Freedman on guitar and vocals. The songwriter will be backed by Glenn Lieberman on bass and Mike Guba on drums.

Freedman has recently moved from NYC to Sullivan County and is using his new album to “share his vision and concern for our world today.” The CD will be available for purchase at the show.

As a musician in NYC since the mid-60s, Freedman has had the opportunity to accompany Bob Dylan, Larry Johnson, Tim Hardin and Adam Miller. He’s been the guitarist for acclaimed NYC singer/songwriter Garland Jeffreys for nearly 50 years; the duo was an opener for Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” tour.
