LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Before the opening kickoff of the Saturday, October 6 football game between the home-team Bulldogs of Sullivan West and the Bears of Tri-Valley, the school honored its senior varsity football players and senior varsity cheerleaders with a midfield celebration.
The senior six-pack of varsity football players: David Cabassa, Jared Davis, James DeAveiro, Brett Dirie, Nile Puerschner and Ryan Talmadge.
Senior varsity cheerleaders: ClannaCarlsen, Brittany Scott, Marissa Peters and Allison Unser.
At halftime, the 2018 homecoming court was the center of attention, as members of the court were joined at midfield by their folks and several relative for the traditional presentation of flowers and a photo-op.
Samantha Becker was crowned Homecoming Queen 2018, while Joseph Joyce-Turner was named Homecoming King.
Becker was escorted by her parents Connie and Paul. She played soccer and competed in track in grades nine through 12, basketball as a freshman and in grades 10-12 in indoor track.
After graduation, Becker will attend East Stroudsburg University, majoring in exercise science.
Joyce-Turner was escorted by his folks Ross and Rose, and after graduation plans to study international relations at either American University or George Mason University.
As a student athlete at Sullivan West, he played soccer and was a member of the ski team as a freshman through 12th grade, played golf in grades 10 through 12 and played baseball as a ninth-grader.
