MONTICELLO, NY — Andrew Trombley, Akiko Hosoi and Nancy Wegrzyn will perform in a trio for string instruments at the E.B. Crawford Public Library, 479 Broadway, on Thursday, May 3 at 6 p.m.
Trombley, a native of Monticello, holds degrees from the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music. He has held, among other prestigious positions, the position of Principal Bass of the Mostly Mozart Festival. His wife Akiko, born in Japan, is a violinist and also a graduate of Juilliard. She has worked with many distinguished pianists, including Norika Ogawa. The couple is actively involved in the Sullivan County non-profit Nesin Cultural Arts, which supports the Aspiring Young Musicians Program and the Summer Music Academy that provide financial aid to many of the students who participate.
Nancy Wegrzyn plays the viola and is currently the principal violist of the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra. She is the department instructional lead teacher of the Monticello High School Performing Arts Department.
