I thought we live in a democratic country. Apparently I was wrong. Damascus Township is not a democracy. If a person doesn’t agree with you, just get rid of them, as they did so with Upper Delaware Council representative Dolores Keesler.
Joe Canfield doesn’t represent the whole township either. Some of us are against gas drilling. We would like to protect our beautiful Delaware River and the wildlife from the mammals to the fish and other aquatic life, not to mention the drinking water, the soil and the air we breathe.
It’s easy to be beguiled by dollar signs. But should we sell our birthright for so little? If Damascus Township wants to appoint someone with no opinions, maybe they should appoint an eggplant.
