DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will host its 17th annual Earth Day Family Festival on Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be guided nature hikes and recycled crafts and games, family-oriented hands-on learning stations, sustainable living ideas and environmentally friendly products and businesses.
One highlight of the day is a live animal presentation by the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and another popular attraction is the tie-dying station. Bring cotton shirts, socks, pillowcases and other items to be tie-dyed with your own design. PEEC T-shirts will also be available for purchase. Kittatinny Canoes will be available to introduce families to canoeing and kayaking on PEEC’s front pond.
Admission to the festival costs $5 per carload for all programs and activities. All proceeds from the festival will benefit PEEC’s Youth and Family Education Programs.
A barbeque lunch will be available for a nominal fee. Visit www.peec.org, email peec@peec.org or call 570/828-2319.
