Mrs. Joan Lorig of Barryville, NY, died Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 88.

She was born December 12, 1932 in New York, NY.

Joan was married to the love of her life Jerry Lorig, in Yulan, NY on May 13, 1992.

Joan retired from the New York Police Department as a detective in 1986.

A family statement read: “I could not ask for better.” Joan and Jerry were inseparable from the moment they met; they knew they just clicked. He could not resist her beautiful blue eyes and golden hair. As one fierce retired detective, she always knew how to put everyone in their place. She loved tending to her rose garden at their home. She was truly one of a kind and her wonderful memory will live on with Jerry forever.

Surviving is her loving husband, Jerry Lorig, at home.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.

A blessing service will be held on Thursday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Montoza Cemetery, Barryville, NY.
