MILFORD, PA — Starting on May 24, and every Sunday until September 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the environmental non-profit Air Soil Water will host the Milford Farmers Market. This year it will be held at The Grotto, 508 Harford St. The new location provides excellent exposure on a heavily traveled U.S. Route 6, a principal route heading into town for locals and driving through town for vacationers and folks getting away for the weekend. The market will have about 20 local vendors from the tri-state area, live music and educational programs.
The market continues and accents a tradition of great local food in the Milford area with innovative chefs and pioneers in the local food movement. The market has a specific goal of keeping local food and sustainable agriculture in the forefront of public consciousness. The market drives home the point that people can ask for better food, better health, a better local economy and a more responsible use of land and resources.
