LIBERTY, NY — Sen. Jen Metzger held an open house on June 10 to commemorate her newly-opened office in Liberty, NY. The event drew a healthy crowd of constituents and officials from both sides of the aisle.
Operating hours at the office are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. During operating hours, constituents may call 845/292-0215 to speak with a member of staff.
In other news involving Metzger, as the state legislature winds up its business for this session the senate passed Metzger’s bill that would usher-in statewide, uniform primary election hours to give voters the opportunity to vote from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the 2020 presidential primary.
In many upstate counties, the polls for primary elections do not open until 12 noon.
“We have a very important presidential primary coming up next year, and there is no reason to delay implementation of this legislation,” said Metzger. “Voters in Ulster, Sullivan, Delaware and other upstate counties should have the same access to the polls that voters in New York City and other counties have.”
