Officers were dispatched and upon their arrival a gunshot went off within the residence. Officers entered the residence and confronted William Holley. Holley grabbed a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver and was immediately subdued. Holley stated while being handcuffed that he should have shot the officers.
Numerous weapons and ammunition were recovered from the home, as well as, a trap set on the home door.
Holley was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, recklessly endangering another person, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, and resisting arrest.
Holley was arraigned in front of Magistrate Rose; he was committed to the Pike County Jail on a $500,000.00 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 25, 2011 at 11:00a.m. before Magistrate Fischer.
