Lumberland & the doves

Posted

As you drive from Port Jervis into Barryville, you’ll pass through the Town of Lumberland, which includes Pond Eddy, Glen Spey, Hillside and Mongaup.

Lumberland is one of many towns, businesses and hamlets featuring a peace dove to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock in Sullivan County. You can find Lumberland’s dove just a few miles off the beaten path in Glen Spey’s Circle Park. There are more than 50 doves scattered throughout the county, painted by local artists to welcome visitors back to the site of that famous music and arts fest in ‘69.
