HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale will kick off its season of downtown events early with the Festival of the Arts on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is sponsored by The Honesdale National Bank, with support from Wayne County Tourism.
On Saturday, craft vendors will line Main Street, and visitors can enjoy the Wayne County Farmer’s Market from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in front of the Visitor’s Center. There will be music with DJ Tom Emanski starting at 11 a.m. and live entertainment and demonstrations under the Fred Mill Pavilion starting at 1 p.m., including Elite Martial Arts, dog training by Your Dog’s Place and a student brass and wind ensemble. There will also be demonstrations of various arts and crafts at merchants throughout town. Saturday will conclude with an Antique Car Cruize at Central Park beginning at 5 p.m., with ‘50s music provided by DJ Ricki Z.
On Sunday, demonstrations, vendors and entertainment will continue, and there will be an Antiques on Wheels Display in Central Park, sponsored by Wayne County Ford, B&B Dodge, Baer Sports Center and the Wayne County Commissioners. The fifth Airing of the Quilts will bring color to Honesdale’s Main Street and Church Street, sponsored by A Stitch In Time.
