LOCH SHELDRAKE AND NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Opera (DVO) and the New York Opera Studio will launch an intensive two-week summer course for singers and collaborative pianists to be held at SUNY Sullivan in Lock Sheldrake from July 7 through 22. The program, called Opera Advantage, will help singers explore the musical language, verbal language and body language of opera. An Opera Advantage opera concert will be held on July 11, and a songs concert on July 13, each at 8 p.m. at SUNY Sullivan. Students also will perform in “Mostly Figaro”—scenes from Mozart’s comic operas including “The Marriage of Figaro”—at SUNY Sullivan on Saturday, July 20 at 8 p.m. and at the Tusten Theater in Narrowsburg on Sunday, July 21 at 3 p.m.
