On January 22, 2012, State Police in Wurtsboro arrested a man and woman on drug and other charges after locating a vehicle wanted in a gas drive off from the Mobil Gas Station in Wurtsboro.
Robert Wase, a 52 year old resident of Wurtsboro, the operator of the vehicle, was arrested for Petit Larceny for pumping $5 dollars worth of gasoline and then not paying for it. Wase was also arrested for possessing a hypodermic needle and marihuana and was found to be wanted by the Town of Deerpark Police Department for Issuing a Bad Check.
A passenger in the vehicle, Amy Smith, a 32 year old resident of Wurtsboro, was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle, a glass smoking pipe, and crack-cocaine. She was also wanted by the Town of Wallkill Police Department on a Bench Warrant. Both subjects were sent to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.
