I’m a long standing resident of Swan Lake and an IATSE Local One union member. I own a vacation rental business in Swan Lake. As a member of the Sullivan County Visitors Association, I’m glad to vote for Cora Edwards, a full-time resident of District Six. I encourage all voters who want a better county government to do the same.Cora will grab a challenge with both hands. She is undaunted in the face of baseless criticism and will fight for what is right.
In 2005, Cora Edwards and a group of neighbors were instrumental in standing up for our individual property rights and our environment at Swan Lake, when others had given up hope. A developer from Long Island decided to build on Swan Lake without the proper permits or basic storm-water protections. When storms flooded Swan Lake with tons of dirt from the developer’s road construction, the DEC issued fines and a stop-work order. Without Edward’s efforts and the other neighbors who pitched in, we might have lost this “bio-gem” of a lake that American Bald Eagles call home. Cora will bring this same determination to the challenges we face in out county. I am asking voters to join me in sending Cora to be our voice in Sullivan County on November 8 for a change that’s long overdue.
