DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), 583 Emery Rd., will give you an opportunity to view eagles this Saturday, followed by animal tracking this Sunday. Registration is required for both programs.
The eagle watch will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and costs $20. Take a trip north in search of eagles and other rare wintering birds. Visit the Mongaup Reservoir, the Delaware River and the Delaware Highlands Conservancy to look for winter residents and nesting pairs. Bring a lunch, camera and warm clothes. Call to reserve a seat in the van; there is a maximum of 20 spaces.
An animal tracking program will take place on Sunday, January 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Animals leave behind clues that give us glimpses into their lives. Explore the center’s natural areas for tracks, trails, scat, territory marks, chew marks and other signs animals leave as they travel through the fields and forests of the Poconos. The cost is $5.
To register call 570/828-2319 or email peec@peec.org. For more information visit www.peec.org.
