A parade for POTUS and Harvey

WHITE LAKE, NY — Some residents of White Lake Homes and others gathered their boats on July 26 to commemorate the life of Harvey Rosenberg. According to organizer Tommy Gelb, Harvey was “a great community guy, and an accomplished musician in the bygone Catskills and the ‘Borscht Belt Era.’” Gelb said the parade was also to honor and support the U.S and POTUS.

“We used to have parades on the lake in the past, usually on July 4, which were always very colorful and fun. Harvey was always at the helm of organizing and very involved. We needed to give Harvey a last hurrah after his recent passing. Harvey is buried at a local cemetery and will always be remembered and live in our hearts,” Gelb said.

Rosenberg’s widow and family and friends were in attendance.

The parade started at the community marina with a short speech by Gelb remembering Harvey and thanking all attendees. The national anthem was played and sung. Then the boats proceeded in single file around the lake’s perimeter.

Gelb hoped that this was the first of more celebrations on the lake.
