New performance by SCDW


SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — “Savannah Sipping Society,” a comedic play written by Nicholas Hope, Jamie Wooten and Jessie Jones, will be staged by the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) at the Rivoli Theatre for two weekends. Performances will begin at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, September 13, 14, 20 and 21 and at 2 p.m. on Sundays, September 15 and 22.

Tickets are available here and cost $15. Seniors (60 and up), students (with valid ID) and veterans can purchase tickets for $12.


Golf tournament and family fun day


HAWLEY, PA — The First Presbyterian Church of Hawley invites the public to its 18th annual golf tournament and family fun day on Sunday, September 15 at Woodloch Springs Country Club. This annual tournament benefits the Hawley Head Start Program, local Presbyterian youth programs and camp scholarships.

Eighteen-hole players can register for $100 at 12 noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Nine-hole players can register for $80 at 1 p.m. with a 2 p.m. shotgun start. The registration cost covers greens fees and cart, buffet dinner and prizes including a Caribbean vacation hole-in-one prize worth $8,000.

Families and non-golfers can also attend Family Fun Day which includes use of the Woodloch Springs pool and amenities, games and the buffet dinner. The cost is $35 per adult and $15 per child (2-18 years of age). Plein air painting party to celebrate summer’s end


JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Artists are invited to “Summer’s End Plein Air Painting” on Bethel Pastures Farm on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All levels and ages are encouraged to participate, with no prior experience required.

‘Slow jam’ on Second Saturday


BETHANY, PA — As part of Honesdale’s monthly Second Saturday celebration on September 14, the Bethany Public Library will be hosting a “slow jam” from 4 to 8 p.m. All levels of acoustic musicians are welcome to join in, and anyone is welcome to come enjoy the music.

What’s new in art this weekend?


MILFORD, PA — The ARTery Gallery is opening an exhibition of two vastly different artists, Laura Dudes and Kate Horan. To highlight their differences, each has created a work in her own style based on the same photograph.

The exhibition, titled “Art in Your Space,” to emphasize the importance of art in your own environment, will open Thursday, September 12 and run through Monday, October 7 at 210 Broad St.

A reception, open to the public, will be held the evening of Saturday, September 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. with free refreshments and a chance to meet the artists.

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, September 14 from 1 to 6 p.m., the Wayne County Arts Alliance, The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and The Cooperage Project are joining forces to curate a juried fine-art exhibit of multiple regional artists.

The public is invited to The Cooperage at 1030 Main St. for an exhibit highlighting the beautiful works of Delaware Valley regional artists. Entrance is free and artwork will be available for purchase.

HAWLEY, PA — Three Hammers Winery will display the exhibition “What the Earth Gives,” photography by Lori Ryan. The show will be on display until Sunday, September 29. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 14 from 4 to 7 p.m at 877 Welcome Lake Rd.
