MONTICELLO, NY — Daria Feinstein of Florida and Smallwood, will present a talk about the flocks of Wild Parrots of South Florida at the 28th annual dinner party of the Catskill Exotic Bird Club, to be held at Mr. Willy’s in Monticello on Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m.
Feinstein, a board member of the Bird Lover’s Club of Pembroke Pines and the Miami Audubon Society, will entertain with stories about these wild parrots—over 30 species, now numbering between 35,000 and 75,000—that inhabit the Miami area. These growing flocks are putting pressure on local ecosystems, but they are clearly there to stay.
The dinner is open to the public for a cost of $40; members pay $35. There will also be a silent auction.
For information or reservations, call Richie Chiger at 845/794-7966 or Matt Frumess at 845747-9370.
