DINGMANS FERRY, PA — There will be a “Bridge the Gap” day paddle down the Delaware River on Saturday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), 538 Emery Rd. Bring a lunch and a water bottle and dress for the weather. PEEC will provide extra water and snacks. Choose between a canoe or kayak. Registration is required; there is a maximum of 25 spaces. Bridge the Gap events are free, thanks to funding provided by the William Penn Foundation. Registration is required; call 570/828-2319.
On Sunday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon there will be a “Frog Frolic.” Have a fun afternoon at PEEC’s ponds and streams learning about our frog friends, catching and releasing them. Wear boots and plan on getting a little wet and muddy. The cost is $5 per person.
There will be another Bridge the Gap paddle, this one on the pond at the PEEC center, on Saturday, August 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Beginners are welcome—PEEC personnel will teach you everything you need to know. Dress appropriately—you may get wet. Spaces are limited; call 570/828-2319 to reserve a canoe or kayak.
